Next round of
2013 and 2010 in-force rate action notifications to take
place in late August
The 2013 in-force rate action includes John Hancock LTCI
individual policies originally issued in Arizona, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, and Wyoming. The 2010 rate action applies to John Hancock and Fortis LTCI individual policies in Pennsylvania, where we will continue the implementation of the rate increase for policyholders who have received their initial “capped” increase. It also includes John Hancock policies in Colorado and West Virginia. Rate increases will have an effective date beginning with anniversaries on or after November 1, 2014.
Please note: The phone number to call with any rate action questions
or inquiries has changed to

NEW BUSINESS NEWS
Important LTC
Captivate Update for co-browsing users
The vendor that
provides the co-browsing functionality has unexpectedly decided to
discontinue this service as of August 1. John Hancock is actively
evaluating other partners that can provide similar integration and
functionality.
Please note that the co-browsing outage does not affect the overall online application and processing of new business through LTC Captivate, nor does it affect the optional “Manual Syncing” functionality, which allows for sharing of screens with an applicant. For additional information and training on the manual syncing process, please refer
to the Brainshark presentation for an overview of how you may use this
feature with your clients.
We will advise you when the replacement solution is
implemented. We apologize for any inconvenience.
TRAINING NEWS
Sign up for LTC Captivate Training Webinars now
As an online system that supports an entirely paperless sales &
application process, LTC Captivate helps to eliminate the geographic
and logistical hurdles that often exist in today’s busy world. As a
result, it enables producers and their clients to conduct business in
settings and time frames that better suit both of their needs.
Our CE Vendor, LTC Connection, now offers 4-Hour Refresher
Training for only $24.00 via webinar (in select states). You will
receive a Certificate of Completion that meets your state’s DRA/NAIC
LTC Partnership training requirements. Unlike online training, you do
not have to take an exam.
Click here to see if you are eligible to take a webinar. If not, we offer the 4-hour training online.
Colorado 5-Hour
Ongoing Mandatory Training Available via Webinar
Colorado requires that the 5-hour ongoing training be taken in
a classroom venue. Our CE Vendor, LTC Connection, has received
approval from the Colorado Department of Insurance to now offer this
classroom training via webinar. No more waiting for a class in your
area or traveling to meet this requirement. Webinars are offered on a
weekly basis, and there is no exam required.
