We understand the many challenges you and your clients are facing due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As part of the CARES Act, the Payment Protection Program has made loans available to small businesses to help retain workers and maintain payroll costs (which includes payment for the provision of employee benefits consisting of group health coverage), or to make mortgage, lease and utility payments. Subject to the requirements of the PPP, loan amounts can be forgiven in whole or in part.
We have received questions from plan sponsors about our ability to accept payments of monthly costs for the AFA product in advance of when those payments are due. Yes, we can accept monthly payments early. Our Aetna Answer Team is prepared to take payments by phone for any group that would like to make an early payment.
